Your Board of Directors conducted their bi-monthly meeting on Wednesday, April 8, 2026. Working through an extensive agenda, President Dale Leman finally got to the final item on the list and breathed a sigh of relief! That item was calling for a motion to transition responsibility to the new Board of Directors. Treasurer Nancy Reed offered up the motion which was seconded and unanimously approved.
What are the changes? Who is leaving? Who got promoted? If you were at the Annual Meeting on March 18, you already know. However, to repeat the results of the election:
Starting at the top:
Outgoing President Dale Leman steps off the Board and is succeeded by Tom Stafford who served as Vice-President this last year.
Next, Terry Hughes steps down as Senior Chief Guide to return to his “day job” as a Guide, to be succeeded by Dianna Wilson, who served as Associate Chief Guide this past year.
Who is new to the Board?
Diana Smith is the newly elected Vice-President, and members know her from all the work she has done over the years on the Programs Committee.
Bill Bender is the newly elected Associate Chief Guide, bringing years of experience as a Guide to this tremendously important position. Thank you both for stepping up to your new responsibilities on the Board.
So, who continues in their current roles?
Nancy Reed continues in her position as Treasurer, starting the 2nd year of her two-year term, where she has done a great job managing the Club’s funds.
And finally, we are extremely fortunate that Lynda Green, Secretary for the past two years, agreed to serve for two more years, continuing the high level of professionalism that she brings to the role.
We extend sincere thanks to outgoing Board members Dale Leman and Terry Hughes for their dedication and commitment to the Club these past two years. They both spent untold hours in their respective roles to ensure that the Club operated at a very high level. The time, talent, and leadership they provided toward achieving the SBHC mission is immeasurable.
