Guindani Loop Trail. Rating: C***. Pace: Moderate. [566, 8:00 AM, $16 + $10-2P, $5-4P]. This hike begins on the eastern flank of the Whetstone Mountains near Kartchner Caverns and includes stunning views, diverse flora, and opportunities to see wildlife. The trail starts out fairly level and then ascends via several switchbacks to a saddle where we will have a snack and then descend into the canyon. ***The trail is rough with loose rocks in several places. It also has some overgrown areas of high grass and catclaw, so dress defensively. Optional stop for refreshments at the Bat Cave Café in the Visitor’s Center afterwards. Hike 4.2 miles, trailhead elevation 4649 feet; accumulated gain 898 feet; net elevation gain 898 feet. RTD approx. 114 miles.
